Invenergy Expands US Footprint With New Washington, D.C. Office

WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 12, 2024 – Invenergy, the leading privately held developer, owner, and operator of sustainable energy solutions, today announced the official opening of its new Washington, D.C. office at 1401 New York Ave NW. This strategic expansion underscores Invenergy’s commitment to accelerating cleaner, more reliable, affordable energy across the United States.
“We are thrilled to officially open Invenergy’s Washington, D.C. office, an important milestone for us as the American leader of clean energy solutions,” said Kelly Speakes-Backman, Invenergy’s Executive Vice President of Public Affairs. “Establishing a presence in our nation’s capital positions us at the heart of US energy policy, enabling additional opportunities to lead the industry in accelerating our country’s clean energy transition.”
The Washington, D.C. office will be a hub for Invenergy’s extensive policy expertise, with a focus on championing advancements in clean energy deployment and operations and improving the policies necessary to strengthen our national grid, build a new domestic workforce, and meet America’s collective energy goals. The office will also draw on the talented DMV workforce to support Invenergy’s growing clean energy development portfolio, including active generation development in Virginia and Maryland.
“Our new office allows Invenergy to provide technological expertise, data-driven insights, and community feedback directly to urgent energy policy discussions,” said Andrew Wills, Invenergy’s Senior Vice President of Federal Affairs. “This presence ensures that Invenergy’s leadership and technical knowhow remain integral to the national energy agenda.”
With offices and operations across the country and abroad, this latest announcement builds on Invenergy’s most recent office openings in Montreal and New York City, and the upcoming expansion of the company’s Chicago headquarters. Notably, Invenergy experienced 20% employee growth last year expanding its headcount to over 2,500 employees worldwide.
